  • Sharomix 702 (Coast Southwest Inc./Sharon-Laboratories Ltd.) (Dehydroacetic acid, benzoic acid, phenoxyethanol)

Procedure

Phase A – Add water to main vessel and begin heating to 70-75°C. With moderate mixing, add remaining portion of Phase A. Phase B – Using proper personal protective equipment (PPE), add GlyAcid 70 to side vessel. Slowly neutralize the GlyAcid 70 with sodium hydroxide 30% solution to pH 4.5 to 5.5. The reaction will be exothermic and generate heat. An ice bath may be used. Add Phase B to Phase A. Once AB is at 70-75°C discontinue heat. Phase C – At 40-50°C add Phase C to Phase AB and mix until dissolved. Properties: pH—4.5 to 5.5.
